Finally!

Good news: We found out last Wednesday that the appraisal came back good!
Bad News: I was sick with STREP THROAT and couldn't celebrate!

It would work out that way, wouldn't it? I have been stressing for a week about this appraisal and when we get the good news all I could do was take a nap cause I felt so lousy.

So now the real count down is on. Only six more days until we close. Then we get to start the demolition work ok, ok, not demolition work-UPGRADES. yay! the fun stuff!
Stripping wallpaper
every room downstairs has wallpaper!

having the whole house painted (inside & out)
that will include all of the trim and wainscoting
and the walls upstairs are pretty yucky!

new carpet

hence the blue carpet, can we say 80's flashback? new appliances

they all still work, but the handles on both the oven and the microwave are broken and the dishwashers front panel is being held up by a brick!

tile

again, blue. cant live with the blue vinyl. anyways its peeling up by the bay window.

We will hire someone to do all the work except the wallpaper stripping and the tile. You know the hubby can lay some tile and I can strip some wallpaper-with the help of a few friends. lol

What's one more day?

What's one more day when we have been waiting 10 million? Ok, ok I know that these things take time, but geez! The appraisal should be done by tomorrow morning. Our mortgage guy spoke to the appraiser and he said that it is looking good. But also mentioned that he didn't have any comps- meaning the other houses in the area that are similar to our house and property and what they sold for in the last 6 months. The realtor reminded him that she sent him some but he says that they are not similar enough to our house. So now she has to rush to pull a few more from MLS that can be as old as 1 year. Ugh. Please let this go well. I don't think that I can take much more of this. This is the #1 hardest thing that you will deal with in your life-buying a new house.

Coincidence?

OK, the realtor just called and the appraiser is on his way now! Keep your fingers crossed!

Reminder: Dont Ever Pray for Patience!

Have you ever heard do not pray for patience or God will give you something to be patient about? I think I accidentally prayed for patience because he is really testing me these days.

I called the realtor at lunch today.. She said that she did speak to the appraiser, who has not done the appraisal yet, but should be doing the appraisal today..blah..blah...blah. Keeping praying that all goes well and I will update as soon as I hear something.

Oh, Jason informed me that I have really expensive taste last night. I cant help it. What I could do with a million? Not much I guess since I have expensive taste. But I really am just grateful to be able to get "new" things. We plan on buying all new appliances right away and all new furniture soon after. I am so excited! I have always loved to shop for home decor more that I have liked shopping for clothes. Yeah for me!!!

Lots going on today

The appraisal will be today on the new house. Pray that it goes well or we will not get the loan. Also, Chris is having his framer come and look at the house for the addition!

We have found a house!

We have needed to move about three kids ago. J was doing some tile work for a couple that we know from church. The homeowner told us about the home next door that was for sale. When J came home he told me about it.

This was exactly what we have been waiting for. The house sits on 4 acres and has three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. We will be adding a master suite as soon as we close.
